Through the values of the IB, our students work together as true global citizens. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) focuses on development of the whole child and provides a framework that can meet a child’s academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs. It is inquiry based and lends itself to being integrated across the curriculum. Our students go through an experience of holistic learning and growth as they begin to work with the PYP curriculum framework with its emphasis on knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes and action. On a daily basis they demonstrate to us that they are respectful, open-minded and tolerant, and place great value on their education.

Our classrooms are vibrant student-centred environments where inquiry-based approaches are balanced with direct teaching. Our teachers actively strive to encourage children’s natural curiosity and love of learning. They take great care to support each child’s social and emotional growth.

We believe that PYP is the best fit to our unique situation. Most of our students are Japanese and for sure that should not hinder internationalism. We understand that international mindedness sincerely nurtures students’ own identities, and we emphasis on true international education which takes us beyond languages and cultures. Therefore, we encourage our students not only using their mother tongue but also expressing their own culture proudly while exhibiting international mindedness.
